Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 4 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 1 year with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.

  • Experience with US GAAP in a public accounting or multinational company setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with databases and with SQL coding across standard commercial databases.

  • Knowledge of technical accounting.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as attention to detail, project management, and organizational skills.

Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. You'll lead an accounting process from end-to-end. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $99,000-$145,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Manage monthly and quarterly accounting activities for different business areas, including approving journal entries and reconciliations, and preparing quarterly financials for regulatory reporting and statutory audits.

  • Lead regulatory audits and direct interaction with regulators to address questions.

  • Design and maintain internal control environments and compliance programs to ensure accuracy of financials, and prepare for and assist with internal and external audits.

  • Support new and existing products, provide accounting guidance on business models and decisions, and pull together the operational components to enable successful launches.

  • Review agreements and provide feedback and accounting guidance to ensure adequate process design and structures.
