    Job Overview

    As a growing AEC firm, we are looking for a motivated Electrical Engineer to help establish and expand our engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to get in early and contribute to the development of our MEP practice. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in MEP engineering, holds a PE license in Illinois, and is proficient in Revit and AutoCAD. Experience with ETAP or similar electrical power system analysis software is required.

    The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing and overseeing power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. While design expertise is the core focus, candidates with field experience in system installation, troubleshooting, or commissioning will be highly valued.

     

    Key Responsibilities

  • Design electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems for various building types.

  • Perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis, arc flash studies, and coordination studies using ETAP or similar software.

  • Develop and modify electrical drawings and BIM models in Revit and AutoCAD.

  • Ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA, IECC, and local codes and standards.

  • Work closely with the entire project team and key stakeholders to integrate electrical systems with the overall project design.

  • Review submittals, shop drawings, and specifications for electrical systems.

  • Conduct site visits for installation reviews, system evaluations, and commissioning support.

  • Assist in budgeting, cost estimating, and project scheduling for electrical system designs and installations.

  • Provide technical reports and documentation to support project execution.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • PE License in Illinois

  • Minimum 10 years demonstrated electrical engineering experience

  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for electrical system design.

  • Experience with ETAP or similar power system analysis software.

  • Strong knowledge of power distribution, low-voltage, lighting, and fire alarm design.

  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, energy codes, and industry standards.

  • Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu for markup, document management, and collaboration.

  • Field experience in system installation, troubleshooting, or commissioning is a strong plus.

  • Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications

  • Demonstrated attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
