IHG Assistant Chief Engineer in Chicago, Illinois

RELATIONSHIPS:

  1. Chief Engineer, Director of Engineering, Administrative staff, all Department Heads, and employees.

  2. Hotel guests/visitors, clients, contractors and vendors.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

HotSOS Program

  1. Establish working relationship with Guest Service Center to create a service environment that will satisfy external and internal customers.

  2. Review workload on a daily basis and plan work assignments accordingly.

  3. Obtain feedback from engineers on repetitive work orders and work on solutions to avoid future waste of time and material

  4. Prepare weekly progress reports on work order status and problem areas by location and department.

  5. Review material inventory requirements with engineering clerk

  6. Monitor proper Best Practice implementation of “HotSOS “use by the engineering department and other related departments.

  7. Provide training to the engineering staff on Espresso related issues

  8. Review existing “HotSOS “set up and recommend improvements and corrections on a quarterly basis.

Preventative Maintenance program

  1. Manage Guest Room, Public Areas, Back of House predictive maintenance program as per InterContinental established standards

  2. Set up and co-ordinate repair programs to meet standards

  3. Communicate with housekeeping and front office department to access rooms provide status information for completion or requirements for extended repairs

  4. Perform audits of all areas as per established format and schedule work assignments for identified work scope.

  5. Set up training for Preventative Maintenance Team.

  6. Manage parts and materials inventories with engineering clerk.

  7. Evaluate performance of existing materials and recommend new products / procedures to reduce repair time and operating cost.

  8. Attends meetings and hotel training sessions as required by hotel management.

  10. Perform other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.

  11. Works closely with the Chief Engineer on major maintenance projects and co-ordinates labor needs as required for non-scheduled maintenance tasks.
