This team focuses on product development and product strategy for Oracle Health, while building out a complete platform supporting modernized, automated healthcare. Millennium Platform Services (MPS) is responsible for a diverse set of services that are central to the Oracle Health Millennium Electronic Medical Record. MPS Engineering is responsible for R&D and building the next generation of health care platform evolving from on-prem to cloud native services. These services provide critical functions ranging from lab results and documents to generating and printing a legal medical record document. We are expanding our talented team so come join us while we embark on this exciting journey.
This position specifically focuses on our Print and Fax services team. These teams own data models and services that are core to the Electronic Medical Record allowing communication of patient data and supporting patient care. There is ongoing work to modernize the process of initiating printing and faxing.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work with a team of software engineers responsible for the software design, development, and operations for new and existing products. You should be willing to contribute anywhere within our tech stack and have an eye for clean coding best practices as well. We collaborate frequently, whether it’s through backlog grooming sessions, sprint/quarterly planning, and example mapping sessions. We like to promote a safe place where engineers should be free to speak up with new and exciting ideas, and also not afraid to take risks and learn from their mistakes. You should value this type of collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.
Our senior engineers are the people who can work independently and provide technical leadership to the organization. The ideal candidate will be technically strong and productive; someone who knows how to balance speed and quality with iterative and incremental improvements. You understand operational excellence and know how to infuse a culture of being proactive within your team. You recommend and justify major changes to new and existing products and establish consensus with the team. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
High level system design and architectural documentation
Driving engineering peer/code reviews
Prototyping/Spiking new functionality for proof of concepts and technical feasibility
Working with Engineering and Product Management to help create and maintain roadmap
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent, relevant work experience
5+ years of total experience with software development
JAVA, JavaScript, Web API, Kubernetes, Docker
Prior Hands-on experience developing cloud services and tools such as Oracle Cloud, AWS or Azure
Solid experience with SQL in database design, developing stored procedure, views, joins, triggers, and various queries and optimizing performance
Strong experience with Github
Systematic problem-solving approach, strong communication skills, a sense of ownership and drive responsibilities listed in the job description
Preferred Qualifications:
Healthcare experience: EHR and Interoperability (HL7, CCD, FHIR)
Observability: APM / Logging
Prior experience with CICD pipelines
Exposure to Print protocols (IPP, LPD)

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,000 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
