Curtiss-Wright Corporation Project Manager in Cheswick, Pennsylvania

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our EMD team!

As Project Manager, you will play a vital role within the assigned business segment supporting customer deliverables. You will develop and control schedule and budget on assigned projects, as well as being designated as the point of contact for customer communications, meetings, and questions. This position requires interaction with engineering, manufacturing, project management office, planning, quality assurance, contracts, and finance to address all project actions.

Your Challenge:

  • Manage, coordinate and control Project Work Plan execution to achieve project technical, cost and schedule objectives.

  • Efficiently and effectively work towards goals in a complex, diverse environment with multiple constraints.

  • Lead the project team and regular project meetings to monitor and drive progress toward project objectives.

  • Maintain effective customer communications, ensuring that all customer requirements and expectations are addressed effectively.

  • Address and resolve project issues pertaining to project work scope, technical requirements, quality, schedule, resource assignments, cost customer interface and other project related activities.

  • Communicate project progress, issues, and/or resolution options to project team members’ customers and EMD management.

  • Review and control project cost, including the coordination and certification of Estimate at Complete dates.

  • Develop and monitor the Project Risk Management Plan as part of project planning and execution.

  • Interact with Sourcing and suppliers to plan for and secure the materials needed for the project and future production.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent with appropriate course complete to support a project management team.

  • 5+ years of related experience in Project management or project leadership experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Project and ERP Systems

  • Preferred Project Management Professional Certification. (PMP)

  • Excellent organization, communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.

  • Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes and procedures.

  • Manages Ambiguity: Deals comfortably with the uncertainty of change, effectively handles risk, can decide and act without the total picture, is calm and productive, even when things are up in the air, deals constructively with problems that do not have clear solutions or outcomes.

  • Organizational Savvy: Is sensitive to how people and organization’s function, anticipates land mines and plans approach accordingly, deals comfortably with organization politics, knows who has power, respect and influence and steers through the organizational maze to get things done.

  • Courage: Readily tackles tough assignments, faces difficult issues, and supports others who do the same, provides direct and actionable feedback and is willing to champion and idea or position despite of dissent or political risk

  • Decision Quality: Makes sound decisions, even in the absence of complete information, relies on a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment when making decisions, considers all relevant factors and uses appropriate decision-making criteria and principles and recognizes when a quick 80% solution will suffice.

  • Directs Work: Provides clear direction and accountabilities, delegates and distributes assignments and decisions appropriately, monitors progress by maintain dialogue on work and results, provides appropriate guidance and direction based on people’s capabilities and intervenes as needed to remove obstacles.

  • Persuades: Positions views and arguments appropriately to win support, convinces others to act, negotiates skillfully in tough situations, wins concessions without damaging relationships and responds effectively to the reactions and positions of others

  • Must be sole US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
