Job Title: Electrical and Instrumentation Technician

Job Description

As an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrical distribution equipment and components. Your tasks will include replacing drives and inverters, troubleshooting motors, PLCs, and various field instruments like flowmeters, pressure transmitters, and level transmitters. You will also make preventative care rounds, lubricate motors, assist in changing motors and valves alongside the shift millwright and operators, and work on valve repairs. Additionally, you will collaborate with remote support for drive troubleshooting, interpret PLC logic for issue diagnosis, tune control loops, and ensure accurate documentation of work results both in a written log and a computerized maintenance system. A critical part of your role will be to maintain a safe working environment, strictly adhere to safety rules, and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Work Environment

The role requires working in various settings, both individually and as part of a team, to ensure the operational integrity and safety of electrical and instrumentation systems. You will be expected to communicate effectively via radios and phones for repair coordination and support a safe working environment by following strict safety protocols.
