Role Definition

Facilitate the operations of an Agile framework with 1-3 teams while embracing the principles of the framework and the Agile mindset. Help teams reach their highest performance level in the execution of workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Planning, scheduling, and facilitating Agile events. Fostering an environment of self-organization, high visibility, ownership, and continuous improvement with the team

• Coaching the Agile team into an understanding of the values, artifacts, and objectives of the operating framework with a lean mindset

• Working with the product owner/service request manager and stakeholders to ensure value is always being generated by the team's work.

• Becoming a champion of removing blockers and impediments to the teams progress, while facilitating the reduction of decision latency with clear and constant communication and attention. Helping the team to capture and aggregate data useful to the team's development, as well as providing management information that will inform strategic decisions.

Skill Descriptors

Business Performance Management: Knowledge of technologies, techniques and practices for the use of business intelligence; ability to monitor and adjust business processes (internal and cross-organizational) in near real-time.

Level Basic Understanding:

• Cites examples of measurements of business performance.

• Identifies organization's strengths and weaknesses.

• Describes key aspects and benefits of Business Performance Management (BPM.)

• Lists common types of resources tracked in a BPM environment.

Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

Level Basic Understanding:

• Explains tactical plan for own area.

• Defines concepts of short-term and long-term planning.

• Describes the planning process and planning cycle used in own area.

• Compares tactical to strategic planning.

Growth and Agility: Knowledge of the necessity of businesses and individuals to experiment, learn continuously, and achieve value for the organization; ability to embrace challenges, show resilience, and proactively seek improvement and innovation to improve an organization's competitive advantage.

Level Basic Understanding:

• Knows how to access and use available learning and development resources.

• Identifies and welcomes changes and ambiguities that arise in the business environment.

• Asks questions and listens to and embraces feedback non-defensively for personal growth.

• Collects necessary information, learning resources, and best practices used to resolve ambiguous situations.

Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Level Working Knowledge:

• Demonstrates experience participating in productive collaborative processes.

• Under guidance, initiates collaborative meetings.

• Assists in communicating shared goals with diverse groups and parties.

• Helps promote collaboration across generations, functions, regions, and levels.

• Helps solve business problems and meet business goals through collaborative processes.

Group Facilitation: Knowledge of group facilitation best practices and ability to design and facilitate a group process, elicit contributions from group members, stimulate a focused group discussion, and achieve a desired outcome.

Level Working Knowledge:

• Describes common facilitation techniques and typical scenarios where each could be used.

• Uses at least one formal facilitation method or technique to moderate a session.

• Participates in the identification and selection of the most qualified candidates for the group.

• Plans, coordinates and conducts facilitated sessions.

• Clarifies and achieves agreement on the purpose and goals of the session.

Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.

Level Basic Understanding:

• Gives examples of decisions and who influenced whom in the decision.

• Describes key concepts of influencing.

• Documents and distributes suggestions and ideas, with supporting detail.

• Identifies local key players and decision makers.

Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Level Basic Understanding:

• Provides examples of the characteristics of effective business relationships.

• Identifies key business relationships in own organization.

• Describes the nature of a productive business relationship.

• Explains the benefits of building business partnerships.

Agile Development: Knowledge of agile methodologies and the agile development lifecycle; ability to utilize formal agile methodologies, disciplines, practices and techniques for the delivery of new and enhanced applications.

Level Working Knowledge:

• Explains a specific agile process and its associated checkpoints and deliverables.

• Works with a specific agile development methodology.

• Interprets metrics used to measure progress and effectiveness.

• Defines key selection and qualifying criteria for projects suitable for agile development.

• Applies major tools and techniques associated with the specific methodology.

Relocation is available for this position.
