Jenny Bour with Robert Half is working with a growing company that is looking to add a Human Resources Leaves Specialist to their team! We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Human Resources Leaves Specialist to manage and administer leave of absence programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company policies. This role will focus on handling Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), workers’ compensation, paid family leave, disability benefits, and OSHA compliance. The ideal HR Leaves Specialist candidate will be well-versed in leave laws, possess strong organizational skills, and provide excellent support to employees navigating various leave options.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage employee leave programs, including FMLA, paid family leave, workers’ compensation, short-term and long-term disability, and unpaid leaves of absence.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding leave policies, processes, and eligibility requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave regulations, including proper documentation and reporting.

  • Process and track leave requests, ensuring accuracy in leave balances and payroll adjustments.

  • Work closely with HR, payroll, and legal teams to ensure smooth coordination and adherence to company policies.

  • Partner with third-party administrators, insurance carriers, and medical professionals to manage claims and return-to-work programs.

  • Support OSHA compliance efforts by maintaining records of workplace injuries and coordinating return-to-work accommodations.

  • Conduct employee education and training on leave policies and workplace safety regulations.

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information and handle cases with professionalism and empathy.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 3+ years of experience in HR leave administration, benefits coordination, or a related area.

  • Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, workers’ compensation, paid family leave laws, and OSHA regulations.

  • Experience working with HRIS and leave management systems.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to support employees with compassion and accuracy.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to manage multiple cases efficiently.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
