Jenny Bour with Robert Half is working with a company that seeking a detail-oriented and employee-focused Benefits Specialist to join their HR team and ensure smooth administration of their benefits programs. This organization is dedicated to fostering a positive and supportive work environment where their employees can thrive! As a Benefits Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing employee benefits programs, providing guidance on enrollments, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This Benefits Specialist position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and manage open enrollment meetings, ensuring employees understand their benefits options.

  • Guide employees through the enrollment process for dental, vision, medical, and life insurance plans.

  • Conduct new hire benefits orientations, providing education on available benefits and utilization.

  • Oversee the COBRA administration process, including handling enrollments, payments, and required documentation.

  • Serve as a resource for employees, addressing benefit-related inquiries and resolving concerns.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ACA compliance and ensure company policies align with regulatory requirements.

  • Keep employee benefit files and records updated, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Reconcile benefits billing statements with precision, working closely with payroll and vendors to resolve discrepancies.

  • Ensure accurate benefits information is updated in ADP and other HRIS systems.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 2+ years of experience in benefits administration or a related HR role.

  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and COBRA.

  • Familiarity with ACA regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Experience working with HRIS systems (ADP preferred) and benefits management tools.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex benefits information clearly.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and billing reconciliations.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
