Job Summary and Qualifications

The Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist (PT) provides high-quality, patient-centered care by managing the complete process of therapeutic care of an assigned group of patients in coordination with the physician and the patient care team. The therapist will assess, diagnose, and treat patients experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction, including but not limited to conditions such as pelvic pain, incontinence, postpartum recovery, and other pelvic-related issues. The ideal candidate will provide individualized treatment plans to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.

What you will do in this role:

  • Perform thorough evaluations of pelvic floor dysfunction, including history-taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.

  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including manual therapy techniques, biofeedback, therapeutic exercises, and patient education.

  • Provide rehabilitative services for patients experiencing conditions such as urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, prolapse, constipation, postpartum recovery, and sexual dysfunction.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including OB-GYNs, urologists, and primary care providers, to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

  • Educate and counsel patients on pelvic health, including prevention and wellness strategies.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress in accordance with regulatory standards and clinic policies.

  • Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance skills and stay current with best practices in pelvic floor therapy.

  • Engage in community outreach and educational programs to promote awareness of pelvic health issues.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate of accredited PT program required

  • TN Licensed Physical Therapist required

  • 3-5 years of work experience as Pelvic Floor PT preferred

  • Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner certification (PRPC) highly preferred

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Parkridge East Hospital is a 120+ bed facility in East Ridge. We provide a full range of medical and surgical services. These services include orthopedics and robotic surgery. We have a 24/7 Emergency Department. This ED is recognized by the Society of Chest Pain Centers as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. The facility also offers obstetrical care and complex gynecological procedures. We also hold a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Specialized providers in the NICU include neonatologists, neonatal nurses and respiratory therapists. These staff are on site at all times. Visit us for excellent general and OB care!
