We are in search of a proficient Cost Accountant to be part of our team in the manufacturing industry, located in CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee. As a Cost Accountant, your role will be crucial in handling financial analysis, managing import duties, and maintaining accurate financial records. You will also be tasked with analyzing manufacturing costs and preparing reports to compare standard costs with actual production costs.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly analysis of gross margin by product, customer type, and division

• Participate actively in the month-end close process, including the preparation of journal entries, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts

• Monitor inventory levels, costs, variances, and physical inventory counts

• Develop and manage processes related to import duties, manage customs brokers, and ensure compliance with import regulations

• Oversee all international trade activities, including calculation of customs duties and tariffs, and documentation of import/export procedures

• Stay informed about industry trends concerning import laws and regulations

• Aid in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, variance analysis, and related reports

• Collaborate in strategic decision-making processes and participate in financial auditing procedures

• Utilize SAP, Microsoft Excel, and other tools for financial analysis and standard cost accounting

• Handle the adjustment of journal entries and manage the Bill of Materials (BOM).

Requirements

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a Cost Accountant role within the manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in Budget Processes

• Extensive knowledge of Standard Cost Accounting

• Experience in Variance Analysis

• Ability to perform Ad Hoc Financial Analysis

• Strong skills in Financial Analytics

• Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

• Experience with Adjusting Journal Entries

• Knowledge of Bill of materials (BOM)
