Job Summary and Qualifications:

The Instructor (Learning Leader) will mentor, coach, lead and motivate our students utilizing our exclusive Black Girl Beauty curriculum. We are seeking passionate, reliable, professionals who will not only prioritize student success but who will commit to being a cohesive partner within our culture. We continually train and support our educators giving them the skills they need to instruct and facilitate utilizing digital and traditional curricula outlined by Black Girl Beauty School of Careers.

The Instructor (Learning Leader) is responsible for assisting students in performing all cosmetology and/or barber-related duties on a professional level to support the Black Girl Beauty School of Careers (BGBSC) traditional, virtual, apprenticeship, pre-apprenticeships and/or online campuses and working closely to provide customer services to BGBSC staff, faculty and supporting the overall mission of the organization under general supervision. This position will perform Lesson-planning and teaching of classes on haircutting, color, texture, skin, nails, cosmetology theory, and/or professional development, using the Black Girl Beauty systems and culture. This position will also recruit and train students to learn to provide cosmetology and/or barbering services to clients, including braids, weaves, barbercuts, shaves, and beard trims.

This position will be actively coaching and assisting students (future professionals) with clinic floor services to include technical assistance as well as coaching on salon success skills such as guest consultations, re-booking, and retailing. This position also offers one-on-one mentoring to student apprentices.

Modeling the Black Girl Beauty culture and positive professional habits for our Future Professionals. The position reports to the Director of Education.

Experience needed:

? Leadership experience ? Positive and pleasing personality ? Minimum - Cosmetology, cut, style, color and braid experience ? Proficient in a wide range of cosmetology techniques, including color, braids, weaves, fades, tapers, and razor cuts ? Proven successful salon experience with strong results in building clientele ? Up-selling, re-booking, product management and retailing would be a major plus ? Having a passion for educating, learning, and helping others is an absolute must ? Knowledge to retail math for selling hair care products to clients ? Provide mentoring and training to students, and apprentices through traditional, online and on the job training. ? Familiarity with cosmetology/barber tools and trends.

As a Cosmetology Instructor (Learning Leader) at Black Girl Beauty School of Careers you will be responsible for training students to learn theory, practical and showcase their skills and creativity while providing exceptional service to our clients. You will help them build self-confidence and offer a supportive and collaborative learning environment where they can continue to grow their career. You will prepare them to pass the state board examination.
