Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Chattanooga, Tennessee

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Payable Clerk with a strong background in finance and accounting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in handling accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, and maintaining financial records. This role requires excellent analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This position is on-site, full-time, and contract-to-hire with standard business hours, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage the full cycle of accounts payable, including reviewing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices and expense vouchers.

  • Maintain and update vendor files, including W-9 forms and contact information.

  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve any discrepancies or issues.

  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.

  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.

  • Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting.

  • Maintain accurate historical records and audit trails.

  • Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve payment issues and inquiries.

  • Assist in the implementation and improvement of accounts payable processes and systems.

    Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and accounts payable procedures.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
