Job Title: Senior HVAC Engineer (Commercial HVAC and Refrigeration)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior HVAC Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of field experience specializing in commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. This role involves designing, installing, and maintaining complex HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial settings. The Senior HVAC Engineer will also lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the highest standards of safety and efficiency are met.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Engineering:

    • Design and develop commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems based on project requirements.
    • Create engineering plans, blueprints, and specifications.
    • Conduct load calculations and energy modeling to ensure system efficiency.
    • Specify and select appropriate HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
  • Project Management:

    • Lead HVAC and refrigeration projects from inception to completion.
    • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure seamless integration of systems.
    • Oversee installation and commissioning of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
    • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
    • Work with vendors and suppliers internal and external.
  • Field Support and Troubleshooting:

    • Provide on-site hands on technical support and troubleshooting for HVAC and refrigeration systems.
    • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to ensure systems are operating efficiently and safely.
    • Respond to emergency repair requests and minimize system downtime for commercial clients.
  • Compliance and Safety:

    • Ensure all HVAC and refrigeration systems comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Implement safety protocols and conduct risk assessments.
    • Stay updated with the latest industry standards, codes, and best practices.
  • Mentorship and Training:

    • Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians.
    • Share expertise and knowledge with the team to improve overall competency.
    • Lead technical workshops and training sessions for staff development.
  • Client and Stakeholder Interaction:

    • Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide technical advice.
    • Prepare and present reports on system performance and project progress.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • Education:

    • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related field.
    • Professional Engineering (PE) license is an asset.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of field experience in commercial HVAC and refrigeration.
    • Proven experience in designing, installing, and maintaining large-scale HVAC and refrigeration systems.
    • Experience with HVAC and refrigeration software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Carrier HAP) is a strong asset
    • Experience with Project Management tools, Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, Adobe.
  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration principles, practices, and equipment.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Proficient in load calculations, energy modeling, and system design.
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong documentation skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Fluency in Spanish or Persian is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to work in various environments, including outdoors and at heights.
    • Must be able to lift and carry equipment as needed.
    • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel.
