University of Virginia Weekend Program: Ambulatory Pharmacist-Specialty Pharmacy Operations in Charlottesville, Virginia

  • The Weekend Program is an opportunity for healthcare professionals to have a fixed weekend work schedule, leaving their weekdays open for other activities.

-Shifts are only scheduled on Friday, Saturdays and Mondays for this program.

-A travel allowance is provided to Weekend Program team members who travel greater than 75 miles from their permanent residence to their workplace.

-Premium paid part-time and full-time positions available.

Pharmacist ensures the safe effective and financially responsible use of medications by providing optimal drug product selection dosage regimen design effective administration and drug therapy monitoring services within UVA Health.

  • Enters prescribing clinician orders into the appropriate computer application.

  • Processes prescribing clinician’s orders (prescriptions).

  • Oversees pharmacy technicians’ work.

  • Provides drug information to patient's caregivers and providers.

  • Performs pharmacy functions according to Federal State local Health System and Department statutes regulations and published guideline documents.

  • The Weekend Program offers a weekend only shift schedule with enhanced compensation. The Weekend Program is a commitment to work 48 scheduled weekends in a 12-month period beginning with first shift worked. Schedule to include both weekend & non-weekend program shifts and associated enhanced compensation.

Position Compensation Range: $52.46 - $83.94 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's Degree required

Experience: No experience required

Licensure: Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing and traveling for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull < 20lbs. May be exposed to chemicals.
