University of Virginia Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) - Internal Traveler Program in Charlottesville, Virginia

  • The Internal Traveler Program is an opportunity to explore the boundless possibilities at UVA Health.Internal Traveler positions are:

  • compensated competitively with other traveler positions,

  • available in a wide variety of clinical practice opportunities, and

  • are offered in 13-week blocks, which may be renewed up to a maximum of 39 weeks.

Position Compensation Range: - Hourly

Minimum Requirements:

Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.

Experience: 1 year or relevant experience preferred

Licensure: : Certification as CRCST (Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician) through IAHCSMM OR certification as CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) through CBSPD required. Team members who receive certification will be eligible for promotion into a Certified Sterile Processing Technician position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires sitting/standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 25-50lbs. Working in environment with fumes, chemicals, vibrations, heat, noise, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
