Robert Half Senior Staff Accountant in Charlottesville, Virginia

Description We are in search of a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team based in Charlottesville, Virginia. This role involves maintaining accounting ledgers, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and developing improvements for accounting procedures. The successful candidate will also be responsible for tasks related to accounts payable and accounts receivable, as well as budgeting and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain accrual and prepaid accounting ledgers

• Conduct detailed review and reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts, and prepare related journal entries and supporting documentation

• Develop and implement recommendations for process improvements in accounting procedures and practices

• Handle tasks related to accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Conduct bulk check uploads in NetSuite and handle one-off check printing

• Review and approve customer invoices for accuracy and timeliness

• Conduct A/R aging analysis and serve as the account manager for specific software

• Assist in the annual budget process and continuous budget review

• Prepare weekly enrollment reports for company distribution

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

• Assist with board reports and monthly lender reports. Requirements • Demonstrable experience in Account Reconciliation and Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations and managing General Ledger

• Skilled in making Journal Entries accurately and efficiently

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel with the ability to perform complex computations

• Experience in Month End Close procedures and reporting

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP financial software

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role.
