Emerson Materials Coordinator II in Charlottesville, Virginia
As a Materials Coordinator II You Will:

Perform necessary Material Handling functions (including, but not limited to, ordering material, Kanban maintenance, picking material, putting away material, cycle counting, purging for quality purges, creating labels, work order paperwork preparation, BOM, etc.)
Receive materials/unload trucks if applicable
Work with sourcing on packing slips/invoices
Break down pallets and re-stack products
Scan materials into inventory system/verify serial numbers
Deliver materials throughout site
File daily records
Responsible for tracking shortages via Gemba/Kaizen Newspaper
Interpret production schedule to determine build sequence
Pull parts to ship to outside customers and for kits
Use SAP, Proficy, and/or Aegis as needed to maintain correct inventory data
Work closely with multiple functions (Materials, Sourcing, Quality, etc.) to resolve issues
Use material moving equipment including forklift as needed
Operate x-ray equipment if applicable
Actively involved in continuous improvement events such as Kaizen
Participation in annual physical inventory as needed
Navigate PC/software as required
Complete all training as required
Physical demands
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs.

Required education and experience
High school diploma or GED
Ability to understand verbal and written directions
Demonstrated problem-solving expertise
Understanding of inventory control systems such as SAP (i.e., MRP, sales orders, Kanban, error resolution procedures)
Understanding of the production order processes, shortage database and shortage resolution
Demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively
May be required to become forklift certified upon hire and maintained
Preferred education and experience
- Previous experience performing material handling in manufacturing setting
EHS
Take ownership of your area and follow established safe work practices
Report all hazards and incidents to your supervisor immediately and follow standard work procedures
Practice concepts of “I Own Safety”
