University of Virginia Assistant or Associate Professor of Medicine, Allergy and Clinical Immunology in Charlottesville, Virginia
The Division of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology at the University of Virginia is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor with experience in Allergy and Clinical Immunology specialty care and medical education to serve as a tenure-ineligible clinical faculty member. The Division hosts high demand full spectrum outpatient and inpatient clinical services, a top tier combined pediatric and adult allergy-immunology fellowship, as well as robust bench, translational and clinical research. Candidates will be expected to have relevant clinical training, certification, and teaching experience. Rank will be dependent upon qualifications.
The successful candidate will have an established track record of high-quality specialty patient care, teaching, and institutional service during fellowship and as applicable in previous clinical academic or clinical practice positions. Additionally, the candidate is expected to assist in strategic priorities of the Division including enhanced fellowship teaching, regional allergy-immunology outreach, a dedicated clinical immunology consult service, community service, and quality improvement initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities to Include:
Clinical – Clinical encompasses providing high quality allergy-immunology specialty care in Division associated clinics and consult services, completing all required training, and maintaining all professional qualifications required for clinical practice.
Teaching - Teaching encompass all activities that directly facilitate student learning, including the contact hours spent in the classroom, office hours, class preparation, grading, answering student email, student advising, evaluating and making available course materials, facilitating e-learning and related duties.
Scholarship – Scholarship encompasses scholarly publication, attending academic conferences, mentoring students/residents/fellows and establishing collaborations within and beyond the Division, and encouragement to conduct funded clinical research aligned with Division and institutional priorities.
Service- University service involves community outreach, membership in departmental, institutional, attending departmental meetings, recruitment efforts, completing all required training, participating in surveys, and timely completion of all assigned administrative tasks and responsibilities.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Candidates must have an MD or equivalent and be certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology or board-eligible by the appointment start date.
