University of Virginia Administrative Specialist - Life Support Learning Center in Charlottesville, Virginia
The Life Support Learning Center (LSLC) facilitates education opportunities for virtually every clinical discipline in the health system. The administrative staff works with the LSLC team, and health system clinicians, to schedule and deliver multiple courses and continuing education. The successful candidate for this administrative position will need to be dynamic and flexible. Scheduling courses, maintaining student records, problem solving, quality customer service, and attention to detail are all part of a normal day in the LSLC.
Answers the telephone, greets visitors, schedules courses, and arranges skills demonstrations for students
Assists LSLC staff with the courses we offer: Basic life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and many others
Develops, manages, and maintains course and student databases
Develops and implements effective and professional office practices and procedures.
Manages purchasing, personnel transactions and special projects.
Performs area-specific support activities.
Communicates appropriately using good interpersonal skills.
Serves, manages and supports internal and external customers.
Participates in performance improvement activities.
Participates as a team member and is accountable for own work responsibilities.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned
Position Compensation Range: $19.49 - $30.21 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
Experience: 2 years relevant experience
Licensure: None required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
