Job Description
The Workforce Planning team is looking to hire a dynamic individual with a strong background in data management, workforce planning, and performance insights that is detail oriented, organized, and a quick learner. They will be asked to do a variety of work involving data management, data transformation, data visualization, research, testing, configuration, development and monitoring of new and/or revised Workforce Planning software and tools. The Workforce Planning team works within an Agile framework, so the candidate needs to be highly collaborative/team oriented, innovative, and focused on continuous improvement. Additionally, we operate in a complex data ecosystem with information coming from numerous sources ultimately used to develop FTE models and half-hourly forecasts to guide retail branch staffing and scheduling decisions. The employee will compile and analyze information for assigned projects and make recommendations based on findings. The employee will also work closely with our Technology developer to improve processes and set up new data feeds to respond to the changing branch banking environment. The ideal candidate is a strategic problem-solver, and able to articulate themselves well while also having the preferred technical skills. The candidate will also be required to consult with business line leaders to interpret data and/or reporting and make recommendations. Altogether, a successful candidate will act as the subject matter expert on Workforce Planning data and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and optimization of our data systems.
Responsible for working on big data/analytics projects that gather and integrate large volumes of data, performs analysis, interprets results and develops actionable insights and recommendations for use across the company. Acquires data from multiple data sources in order to perform analysis. Identifies, analyzes and interprets trends or patterns in complex data in order to provide answers to business questions as well as provide recommendations for action. Interprets data and analyze results using various statistical techniques and tools. Presents data and analysis in a clear and concise manner allowing the audience to quickly understand the results and recommendations so they activate upon them and make data driven decisions. Collaborate with various partners to provide a holistic view of the analysis. Measures and monitors results of applied recommendations and present adjustments. Ensures all data acquisition, sharing and results of applied recommendations are compliant with company standards.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience
Five to seven years of statistical and/or data analytics experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
Working knowledge of analytics and statistical software such as SQL, R, Python, Excel, Hadoop, SAS, SPSS, Geo-spatial tools and others to perform analysis and interpret data
Experience in analytics, advanced analytics/statistics, predictive modeling
Strong analytic skills with the ability to extract, collect, organize, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Demonstrated project management skills
Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional experience in Excel, Power Query, Power BI, and/or Tableau
Intermediate experience in Alteyrx and SQL
Experience working in or partnering with retail branch banking
Basic understanding of Agile ways of working, including using Enterprise Jira application
Experience using Power Apps / Leap and PowerShell
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Demonstrated strong ability to problem solve, identify root cause, and locate anomalies in data
Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to interpret trends and patterns in complex data to answer business questions
Demonstrated strong leadership and communication skills to present data and analysis in a clear and concise manner
A Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field such as finance, econometrics, computer science, engineering or applied mathematics desired. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to extract, collect, organize, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. Significant experience in analytics/statistics, or predictive modeling. Strong technical proficiency in SQL servers, Access databases, Excel, Power Query, PowerShell scripts, ETL systems like Alteryx, and data visualization via PowerBI or Tableau. Excellent communicator both verbally and written.
This role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside of the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $102,340.00 - $120,400.00 - $132,440.00
