Equitable is looking for a Sales Engagement & Strategy Squad Team Lead to join our Individual Retirement Tribe team. The Team Lead will support amplifying our sales productivity and efficacy by equipping sales teams with meaningful process changes, engagements strategies, leading-edge tools, real-time data and competitive insights. Working closely with our IR Distribution Teams, Compliance, Marketing Teams, Sales Experience, data and analytics team and IT. This is a flexible-hybrid position with weekly in office and remote work arrangement.

The Team Lead will:

  • Increase distribution effectiveness by leveraging data and technology (e.g., conduct propensity modeling, build Next Best Action models).

  • Identify and implement third-party tools to boost productivity (e.g., CRM), supporting all aspects of the Individual Retirement organization.

  • Analyze competitor, distributor and market share data to provide recommendations to wholesalers, support the Solutions & Inforce area to develop new products and marketing for product positioning.

  • Support IR and GR sales engagement by managing an email strategy leveraging personalization, automation, and data-driven decision making.

  • Develop and implement of a comprehensive data strategy aligned with IR goals and objectives.

  • Critical part of New Ways Of Working (NWOW) at Equitable, working closely with the Area Lead using an Agile methodology / NWOW principles. He or she will co-create the Squad vision and goals with the Squad and will proactively guide the Squad towards these goals under a test-and-learn culture that entails MVP delivery, innovation, frequent engagement with customers, advisors, partners and stakeholders, and continuous iteration.

  • Full ownership of expense and vendor management, firm submissions, conferences, and wholesaler events.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Setting a clear Roadmap to craft and execute on the sales tool and insights strategy and communicate ‘the story’ to key stakeholders (e.g., wholesalers, advisors) and the Squad

  • Leadership: Leads a team of 5 direct and 3 indirect reports, manage $2M annual budget and identify and mitigate business risks associated with the current and/or target state operating model. Playing an active role in leading agile Ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews and sprint retrospectives

  • CRM: Redesign/reinvent Sales processes with the use of technology, automation, and AI for efficiencies, capacity, and focus. Translate business requirements and sign off on technical design and deployment of all Salesforce functionality.

  • Ensure quality and accuracy of IR sales data and reporting.

  • Set up and execute IR and GR email campaigns, nurture programs, and ad hoc sends to financial advisors. This includes the management and configuration of SFMC for IR and GR along with developing robust reporting capabilities to provide insights.

  • Seismic: Manage the Seismic vendor relationship and support ongoing development and reporting of Seismic platform and usage.

  • Distribution Support: squad is responsible for support of IR and GR large scale meetings and events, marketing submissions with third party firms, and oversight of expense submissions and marketing allowance payments

Key Expertise

  • Proven knowledge in current Equitable sales tools and an understanding of Equitable’ s IR technology ecosystem

  • Understanding and knowledge of external market tools (inside and outside of the insurance industry)

  • Practical understanding of data and its applications to enhance decision making and generate productivity and efficiencies

  • Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams from tech, operations, data and analytics and marketing

  • Experience in designing and delivering training and communications to sales teams

  • Proven experience with influencing change though leveraging agile, adaptive leadership models and change management

  • Strong leadership and individual contribution

  • Strong communication skills with comfort in speaking with business stakeholders

  • Strong problem solving with ability to manage and lead the team to push the solution and progress

  • Strong existing relationships and presence in the Salesforce and Seismic space.

The base salary range for this position is $105,000-$156,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 10 years professional work experience within Insurance or Financial services Industry

  • 5 years leading Salesforce strategy, or a closely related sales force automation system

Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce Admin Certification, strongly desired

  • Good understanding of Salesforce Marketing Cloud capabilities and the value it delivers for our advisors and clients

  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, with the proven ability to positively influence and inspire teams and stakeholders

  • Capability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently

  • Experience delivering project from end-to-end, and demonstrated knowledge of sales tools and competitor product set

Agile experience

  • Experience in managing the backlog, prioritizing value based on understanding the customers, tracking value

  • Experience in facilitating agile ceremonies, managing a backlog/release plan, tracking team level metrics, removing blockers (burndown chart, release burn up, etc.)
