JOB SUMMARY:
The ATS Corporate IT department is responsible for the delivery of critical enterprise-wide IT systems and services. The Systems Administrator – IT Infrastructure role is responsible for a wide variety of information technologies, including Active Directory, Office 365, Azure, Cloud Services, Windows Servers, Storage Area Network (SAN), backup systems, virtualized server (VMware, Hyper-V), database (MS SQL), MDM, system monitoring, certificates, and Automation software.
The System Administrator - IT Infrastructure position will play a crucial role in optimizing enterprise-wide IT systems for a global engineering and manufacturing organization spanning 100+ locations, 9,000+ users, 1,300+ servers, and 10,000+ endpoints and demands deep technical expertise in cloud, infrastructure, security operations, IT M&A projects and global IT strategy execution.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
• Infrastructure & Cloud Management: Architect, implement, and manage enterprise server environments, including Azure, Office 365, VMware, and hybrid cloud solutions.
• Optimize and secure cloud services, including Azure AD, Intune (MDM), Office 365 (Teams, Conditional Access, MFA, SSO, SAML).
• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to enhance scalability and security.
• IT Security & Compliance: Enforce and enhance security frameworks, aligning with corporate policies and industry best practices.
• Conduct advanced security assessments, vulnerability remediation, and risk management initiatives.
• Drive security hardening projects, including endpoint protection.
• Project & M&A: Working on Infrastructure projects, including architecture design, migrations, and consolidations
• Manage technology integrations for mergers and acquisitions, ensuring seamless system transitions.
• Partner with global business leaders to align IT services with strategic objectives.
• Automation & Process Optimization: Develop automation scripts and workflows for infrastructure management, software deployment, and reporting.
• Establish and maintain IT process frameworks, ensuring consistency across global operations.
• Operational Support & Escalation Management: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex IT incidents.
• Mentor and train L1/L2 administrators, driving knowledge-sharing and upskilling initiatives.
• Maintain all hardware and software services supported by the IT Technical Services team including but not limited to: Enterprise servers, Active Directory including Domain Controllers, Certificates, Virtualization, Azure, Office 365, Windows Servers, Database Servers, SAN, SFTP, anti-virus, MDM, JIRA, Cloud Services, system monitoring and core applications such as ERP.
• Lead projects as assigned. Activities include developing project proposals, preparing detailed project plans, developing budget estimates, funding requests, preparing status reporting, assisting other team members.
• Hardware and software planning and selection, including upgrades and replacements.
• Deploy on-premises (Physical and Virtual) or IaaS servers as required.
• Ensure proper registration of devices and licensing compliance.
• Maintain documentation covering systems that the IT Technical Services team supports, including but not limited to servers / system software, System Standards, Operations procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• University degree or college diploma in a related discipline or relevant work experience in the IT Systems Administration and IT Operations field.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, VMware VCP, CISSP, ITIL) preferred.
Experience:
• 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud, and security operations.
• Strong proficiency in Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory, and enterprise storage solutions.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
• Expertise in IT security, compliance audits, and endpoint protection.
• Hands-on experience with IT M&A integrations and cloud transformation projects.
• Experience supporting mobile device management systems.
• Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
