Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Sales Tax Accountant in our Media industry office located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The primary job function includes processing and formatting sales tax data, assisting in tax filings, and participating in special projects.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of various state sales tax returns

• Aid in property tax filings and Annual 1042s filings

• Participate in special projects as required

• Contribute to the automation of sales tax data for faster return filing

• Process and format sales tax data to meet state requirements

• Assist in the resolution of discrepancies in monthly reconciliations

• Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP, Sales Tax, Monthly Sales Tax, Property Tax, and Property Tax Returns.

Requirements

• Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.

• Demonstrable experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Familiarity with bank reconciliations and general ledger tasks.

• Proven ability to prepare journal entries and handle month-end close procedures.

• Experience with sales tax, monthly sales tax, property tax, and property tax returns.

  • MULTI-STATE Sales Tax experience a must

• Strong analytical skills to understand and interpret financial data.

• Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.

• High level of integrity and professionalism to handle sensitive financial data.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.

• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and handle pressure in a fast-paced work environment.

• Familiarity with media industry accounting practices is desirable.
