Resideo Senior Manager, Global ESG and Emerging Risk Controller in Charlotte, North Carolina

At Resideo, we are actively seeking an experienced professional to join our team in a newly created role as the Senior Manager, Global ESG and Emerging Risk Controller. This role will be instrumental in establishing robust internal processes and controls to align with the evolving global regulatory requirements and support leadership in the mitigation of emerging risks. This critical role involves delivering high-impact insights to senior leadership while evaluating the effectiveness of risk frameworks, governance, and processes.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Monitor the evolving global regulatory ESG reporting landscape and orchestrate various stakeholders in evolving our strategy to meet all requirements; stays apprised of voluntary ESG reporting developments so as to ensure consistency in what is reported externally.

  • Evaluate and determine the applicability of new reporting regulations globally (and at the legal entity level) based on deterministic thresholds (e.g. materiality, corporate size, etc.).

  • Builds our capabilities to meet all mandatory ESG reporting requirements globally.

  • Assists teams in building and/or optimizing data and process flows, ultimately implementing SOX-like controls across the end-to-end business processes from data sources through disclosures.

  • Lead risk assessment initiatives to monitor risk mitigation strategies, analyze key risk indicators and prepare risk reports.

  • Develops and operationalizes standardized policies and processes with regard to sustainability reporting and other regulatory environments.

  • Key liaison with external firms to drive limited and reasonable assurance over regulatory disclosures.

  • Builds and leads global ESG and ERM Councils.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Investor Relations, Legal, and Operations subject matter teams covering risks across the globe to ensure regulatory reporting requirements.

  • Trains key employee groups on reporting processes, controls, regulatory requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • 10 years of experience in a combination of ESG reporting, accounting and financial reporting, internal controls, enterprise risk management, data management, or related fields.

  • Experience in building and leading high-performing and diverse global teams.

  • Experience in building and improving well-controlled (SOX compliant) processes leveraging technology that scales globally.

  • In-depth understanding of Enterprise Risks including an understanding of ESG issues and willingness to keep up to date with the latest ESG guidelines and developments.

  • Exposure and experience with risk management ecosystems with critical business disciplines including IT & Cybersecurity, Controllership, Supply Chain Management, Business Continuity, Data Privacy and Global Compliance.

WE VALUE:

  • Relevant professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, Certified Sustainability Practitioner (CSP), Greenhouse Gas Management Institute diploma, CRMA, or equivalent are a plus.

  • Big 4 experience is a plus.

  • Established business acumen, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Exposure to working in a multinational setting, navigating diverse business landscapes and cultures.

  • Exhibited capacity to drive change and exert influence on decision-making processes to enhance organizational performance and efficacy.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal proficiencies, facilitating effective engagement with senior management and external stakeholders.
