Senior Director, ESS Strategy
As a Senior Director, Strategy at Honeywell Energy and Sustainability Solutions, you will provide strategic leadership and direction to the organization's strategy function, ensuring the development and execution of effective strategic planning for the business. Your role will involve driving organic and inorganic growth of the ESS business by analyzing market trends, macroeconomic data, and competitor intelligence to identify and drive execution against growth opportunities. As the Senior Director, Strategy ESS you will driving the strategic planning process (STRAP) to support the achievement of business growth objectives for ESS and its businesses.
This role will also engage cross-functionally and with ESS and Honeywell Senior Leadership to develop the ESS strategy. This involves working with commercial, functional technical, finance and leadership teams to translate global strategy into market-based commercial strategies and working with the M&A team to identify and support execution against inorganic growth opportunities. You will report directly to our Chief Strategy Officer, ESS (CSO) and you'll work out of our Charlotte, NC location on a hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities
Develop near and long-term strategic plans for the ESS business in conjunction with business leadership which drives growth rates materially greater than market growth
Define growth and competitive advantage opportunities by identifying technology trends, portfolio integration and expansion opportunities and business model evolution
Partner with senior leadership to identify and execute on growth and margin expansion opportunities, constructively challenging “where to play” and “how to win” choices
Develop frameworks to support identification, incubation, and assessment of critical growth initiatives to align with business goals
Identify and evaluate inorganic growth strategies including acquisitions, alliance, licensing, and partnership opportunities linked to the strategic plan
Continue to evolve strategy, business, and go-to-market capabilities by being a “player-coach” on critical projects
Conduct market analysis and identify growth opportunities
Track competitor performance and market intelligence to drive in insights and identify potential changes to strategic actions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align strategic initiatives and business objectives
Drive the execution of the STRAP process, including setting targets, identifying key initiatives, and monitoring progress
Manage a team of 1 person, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities
YOU MUST HAVE
Minimum 5 years in a corporate/business strategy leadership role

Master’s degree
Top-tier strategy consulting firm experience and solid financial grounding
Minimum 12 years’ professional work experience in a relevant field
Direct people management experience
Experience at a large global organization
Demonstrated business acumen with a track record of developing and driving growth initiatives
Ability to deliver a consolidated view of the market and competitive environment, and to translate analytics into business opportunities
Strong leadership, talent development, negotiation, and influencing skills
Ability to structure and independently lead cross-functional strategy projects, working collaboratively with stakeholders across the company
Storytelling skills: ability to deliver presentations with ease and engage audiences
Solid financial grounding and international operating experience
Technical understanding of customer requirements and product offerings
Proven capacity to forge solid relationships and manage across broad and geographically dispersed businesses
Experience with project planning, scoping, and execution in an agile or phase-gate environment
