As a dedicated Product Development Analyst, you will support the end-to-end development of new P&C product opportunities. Provide analytical support and research on products and opportunities and assist with roll out of new products.

Accountable for analyzing performance across the product development life cycle. Support Product Development team and partners with other Centers of Excellence (COEs) to compile, analyze and interpret data to make strategic and tactical product development recommendations. Responsible for defining the business questions and providing insights to improve business performance.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Supports the development of digital first products supporting the needs and risks of USAA Members.

  • Provides analytical support to develop strategies, develop, launch and refine new innovative product offerings as well as auxiliary/enhanced features/services for existing products, including the evaluation and decision to buy/build or ally.

  • Generates creative product and coverage solutions for member needs to ensure a dynamic product development pipeline exists.

  • Compiles internal and external data and member information to support formulation of product strategy and enhance competitive intelligence.

  • Compiles data to support monitoring, maintenance and underwriting of existing “new in market” products based on product performance, member needs and competitive changes in the market including but not limited to product rules, rates, and forms.

  • Analyzes and evaluates new product performance metrics to adapt offerings, if necessary, prior to full launch.

  • Coordinates with relevant control partners (to include Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management) to ensure product offerings are crafted and implemented in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are optimally identified, measured, supervised, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Statistics, or related field; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • 4 years proven experience in Actuary, Underwriting, Marketing, Operations, Financial Services or relevant military experience.

  • Experience conducting research, compiling and analyzing data.

  • Proven experience supporting product and/or coordinated suite of products.

  • Understanding of Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC).

  • Data analytics experience

  • Experience in developing new Property & Casualty products outside of auto and property

  • Experience in state management, pricing, underwriting, consumer insight/research or claims

  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner

What we offer:

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $74,210.00 - $141,830.00 .

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
