Join our HVAC Engineering team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and contribute to the development of cutting-edge chiller systems that define the future of sustainable cooling solutions. As a key member of our Chiller Engineered to Order (ETO) product design and development team, you will develop advanced cooling solutions, particularly for data center customers. Leverage your expertise in thermal systems to design, analyze, and optimize chiller systems for maximum efficiency, reliability, and performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our chiller products meet and exceed customer expectations while adhering to industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
Conduct thermal analysis and simulations to evaluate system performance under various operating conditions and environments.
Collaborate with product management, engineering, and manufacturing to define project requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
Support the design and development of chiller systems, including component selection, system integration, and performance optimization.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Support product testing and validation activities, analyze test results, and implement design improvements.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in thermal systems engineering.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
5+ years of experience in new product development or design.
Proficiency in thermal analysis, chiller systems, and HVAC systems.
Experience with pressure vessel design and ASME standards.
Ability to drive the analysis, conceptual design, and optimization of chiller systems for ETO data center applications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Master’s degree in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering preferred.
Focus on chiller systems is preferred.
Proficiency in thermodynamic cycle analysis and modeling using proprietary or commercially available software.
Experience with product development processes from concept design to production release.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent English communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Team player with a collaborative mindset and a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
Experience with Engineering to Order systems with 3000+ parts/BOMs/sub-assemblies.
Some experience with quoting and costing is a plus.
Work Environment
This role involves working on a global platform for chiller systems, with engineering, materials, design, and manufacturing all onsite. The position includes interaction with various groups within the organization and exposure to special assignments and high-profile projects. You will work with engineering, design, supply chain, scheduling, material planners, quality, and manufacturing teams, as well as customers and vendors. The environment is dynamic, with a significant focus on special orders for clients worldwide, including the Middle East, US, and Canada. The organization is moving to SAP, providing opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
