Siemens Energy Manufacturing Engineer – Exciter Manufacturing in Charlotte, North Carolina

A Snapshot of Your Day

You will be a driving force in developing and providing innovative and efficient methods to refurbish Siemens’ fleet of brushless exciters as well as provide new equipment for the emerging needs within North America. At times, you will be on the shop floor ensuring the operators have all the necessary tools and equipment to perform their duties and when needed, take a hands-on approach to meet production demands.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Ensure manufacturing processesare clearly defined and communicated from manufacturing engineering to theshop floor via technical instructions, GMSs, etc.

  • Develop and implementproduct-specific manufacturing processes utilizing sound engineeringjudgment and methodologies

  • Provide technical guidance andtraining to new and experienced engineers, operators, technicians

  • Communicatewith order engineering to understand requirements, optimize product designfor manufacture, and communicate process deviations (non-conformances)

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment tocustomer service and meeting Siemens Energy expectations.

  • Promote and participate in continuousimprovement/lean activities that meet operational excellence expectations.

  • Understand how to extractinformation contained in SAP (Quality notifications, drawing retrieval,line-up printing, material status, etc.)

What You Bring

● BS in Engineering discipline

● Experience in providing technical oversight in a manufacturing environment, preferably supporting the power generation industry

  • Prior exposure to brushlessexcitation manufacturing and nomenclature is a plus

  • Experience working in amulti-disciplinary team environment.

  • Working experience with computers –including SAP and Microsoft Office software.

Gas Services

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
