Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The FM Tech Mechanical Trades performs under the direction of the Facilities Management HVAC Shop Supervisor.
Duties include:
Responsible for performing routine maintenance of HVAC equipment to ensure that equipment continues to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and/or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
Use electrical test devices to troubleshoot and repair.
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
Use standard HVAC tools. This includes precision measuring instruments, electrical devices, and electronic testing devices.
Using knowledge and skill in Building Automation Systems ( BAS ) to complete tasks as needed
Look up and order parts.
Ability to act as a lead technician and provide guidance to other technicians.

Minimum Experience / Education:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent and two years experience. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Graduation from high school or equivalent and four years experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC , and refrigeration equipment.
HVAC controls for Building Automation Systems experience.
Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge.
E.P.A. 608 Refrigerant certification preferred.
Experience working in facilities maintenance preferred.
Effective verbal and written communication skills needed for position.
Computer knowledge and skill with Google E-mail, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and willingness to learn new programs.
Ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork.
