Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The primary purpose of the Graduate Program Coordinator in the Department of Computer Science is to perform duties in five main areas: student recruitment; program admissions; student advising; program administration; and program assessment and reporting.

The responsibilities of the Graduate Program Coordinator will include but not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain contacts with regional undergraduate programs.

  • Develop and implement student recruitment plans, which may require employee travel to recruit potential students to our Master’s programs.

  • Coordinate Early Entry into CCI graduate programs.

  • Manage the application review process, pre-process program applications, and make preliminary recommendations to the respective Graduate Program Directors; respond to pre-admission and pre-enrollment inquiries; and coordinate graduate enrollment planning.

  • Provide academic advising (including pre-enrollment advising) to CCI graduate students.

  • Monitor student progression and manage program records.

  • Assist in monitoring the program budgets and facilitate program assessment and reporting.

  • Assist the course schedule planning to promote student progression.

  • Administer the programs’ web content and social networking presence and maintain and manage marketing materials.

Minimum Experience / Education:

  • Masters in Higher Education Administration or a related discipline, or master’s in computing related field with 2 years of experience in teaching, assessment and/or program administration.

  • 1-2 years of experience in academic advising in higher education; preferably working with students in STEM areas.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and college/university boundaries in a university setting.

Preferred Education Skills and Experience:

  • The preferred candidate would combine knowledge of computing subject matter and IT industries with recent training or direct experience in higher education administration.

  • Experience with academic information systems is preferred.

  • Experience with effective use of social media is highly desirable.
