Job Duties

Our client is hiring a Entry Level Budget Analyst for a 3 month contract to hire position to support the IT department with processing the finances for E-Rate equipment. Day to day: this person will be responsible for balancing the overall budgets for the IT department. There are a couple of budgets within the overall: operational: 8 million; Bonds: 3 million; E-Rate: over 5 years, 26 million. Each fiscal year, this person will meet with the team to go through specifics for that budget season, determining what is expected of the budget and what the spending plan is so the person understands what they need to follow. Typically this person will make a template with PO's that need to be ordered detailing what month the purchasing needs to occur. As this is supporting an IT budget, general knowledge of IT terms/equipment will be helpful when matching up budget codes with specific hardware equipment. It is important this person understands how to follow a budget--get the requisitions created, communicate with purchasing. There is a high volume of purchasing so this person must be organized, self-motivated, and independent. This person will also manage the district's cellular contract (3500 lines)--ordering phones and maintaining a listing of all phones for the district--have to reconcile what that budget looks like. I.E. If a new person comes along in a dept.--reach out to order a phone, work in the template, add the person, calculate the annual cost, and work with purchasing to increase the purchase order.
