Job Summary

Envision Design Studio, part of Envision Group, seeks a dynamic Director of Project Management over Design and Construction Projects at Compass Group North America. This role will primarily focus on fostering robust sector and client relationships and ensuring the effective strategic partnership, as we develop and deliver exceptional foodservice projects.

In this role the ideal candidate will manage internal and external client expectations and project deliverables, as well as ensuring design and equipment partners are delivering quality, value, and innovation. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five plus years experience in the Design & Build Process within Contract Foodservice Environments. The ideal candidate will be well-rounded in design, construction, budgeting, bid process, and Project Management process with exceptional communication and people skills. Qualified candidates will have experience overseeing Design Development, Construction Documentation, and Construction Administration for multiple D&C projects cross sectors, as well as coordinating communication and deliverables from Client, Architect, Engineer, and General Contractor on all projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Drives the Project Management Strategy for Envision Design Studio

  • Creates innovative tools and processes to streamline project dependencies to manage Sector and Client Expectations

  • Directs project communication procedure between upper management and the field.

  • Supervises budgets, and oversees all projects interdependencies & efficiencies, and is responsible for meeting project objectives and client project expectations.

  • Initiates and maintains Interface between the project deliverables, vendor partners, operations team, and client representatives.

  • Coordinates with Project GC & PM on all project schedules and coordination

  • Contributes to strategies in D&C that contribute to Like for Like growth, new business opportunities, and business retention efforts.

  • Communicates regularly with SVP of Design Innovation, Envision Design Group, and all other management members on project priorities, project pipelines, and project status.

  • Collaborates regularly with members of the Envision Group Projects Division on D&C strategy, design innovation, trends, best practice, and partner network support.

  • Cultivate strong partnerships with sector stakeholders, clients, and cross-functional teams to drive innovation in design and construction.

  • Forge strategic alliances with external partners, to streamline purchasing, vendor selection, and bidding processes.

  • Provide thought leadership on Sustainable Design and Construction practices.

  • Defines contractual obligations and oversee project budgets and schedules to ensure alignment with project objectives.

  • Collaborates closely with cross-functional Envision Group teams to achieve strategic and financial objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Design, Project Management, or related field.

  • 7+ years proven history of success in construction/project management, preferably within the restaurant / foodservice / retail industry.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, Outlook, and related Project Management Software.

  • Strong background in food and foodservice operations, with a deep understanding of Design & Build Development.

  • Proven ability to follow procedure, manage coordination and flexibility to adjust and change on the spot within guidelines and project parameters.

  • Highly developed sense of ownership, responsibility, and can do attitude.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a project environment.

  • Working Knowledge of Architectural & Engineering Process

  • Working knowledge of Custom Millwork Fabrication and development

  • REVIT or AutoCAD knowledge is a plus.

  • Solid understanding of LEED and WELL practices is a plus.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Commitment to quality and innovation

  • Ability to manage projects and clients in various US time zones.

  • Ideal location northeast or near a major city & hub airport

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with a history of delivering measurable results.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time to meet with clients and operators.

  • Ability to manage, mentor, and grow a team of future D&C PM leaders at Compass.
