Robert Half Controller in Charlotte, North Carolina

Description We are seeking a Controller to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing financial aspects of our operations, including inventory control, month-end closing, and setting up processes and controls. You will also be tasked with managing projects associated with new construction.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee inventory control to ensure accuracy and efficiency

• Conduct month-end closing processes for each store

• Manage Profit and Loss (P& L) statements for all store locations

• Set up processes and controls to streamline financial operations

• Manage projects related to new construction to ensure they are completed on time and within budget

• Utilize QuickBooks Online for various financial tasks

• Ensure Point of Sale (POS) systems at the store level are functioning efficiently

• Regularly monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary

• Prepare and post journal entries as per business requirements

• Implement strategies to reduce the financial closing process to 10-12 days. Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position

• Proficiency in using Quickbooks Online is required

• Experience with Month End Close procedures is essential

• Knowledge and understanding of Inventory Controls is necessary

• Ability to prepare and maintain Journal Entries is required

• Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are required

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is essential

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required

• Must have a strong understanding of financial regulations and legislation

• A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred

• Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
