Job Title: Construction Estimator (Concrete)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team. The Estimator is responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings to ensure comprehensive and accurate bid submissions for new commercial construction projects. This role requires a deep understanding of concrete construction estimates, including footings, poured walls, flatwork, and Post-Tension design elements. Our projects include multi-family, hotel, religious, and medical office buildings, with a strong focus on multifamily projects.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze paper or digital drawings to determine scope requirements and construct detailed bids.

  • Develop strong relationships with General Contractors (GC) who send out requests for bids/quotes.

  • Gain a thorough understanding of bid processes and requirements for each request for bid, including construction site visits as necessary.

  • Work within company guidelines concerning labor and material costs to maximize project profitability while preparing bids.

  • Manage the entire bid submission process from drawing receipt, analysis, submittal, and final iteration, including all bid deliverables.

Essential Skills

  • Extensive experience in construction estimation, particularly in concrete work and post-tensioning.

  • Proficiency in using estimating software and tools such as AutoCAD, PlanSwift, BlueBeam, and Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel).

  • Strong project management skills in construction, including budgeting and material takeoff.

  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings/prints.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience (minimum of 3 years reading drawings and developing quotes/bids).

  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.

  • Self-motivated, punctual, and able to manage multiple tasks under moderate time-sensitive pressure.

  • Professional and polished appearance.

Work Environment

You will work in a professional office setting with a collaborative team. The position may require occasional site visits to construction locations. Standard office hours apply, with the expectation of meeting deadlines and project timelines. The role necessitates the use of various software tools and frequent communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00
