COMPANION SITTER JOB SUMMARY

Companion Sitter services include non-hands on care, socialization and basic supervision to ensure a clients safety and well-being. Companions may provide light housekeeping tasks, which are secondary to the care and supervision of the client

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION AND DUTIES Companion/Sitter services include, but are not limited to, the following activities: a. Providing companionship and maintaining a safe environment for the client; b. Reading mail, writing and correspondence for the client; c. Make bed; d. Change linens; e. Laundry tasks; f. Perform light housekeeping (clean kitchen, sweep dust mop); g. Clean bathroom; h. Keep living areas free from clutter; i. Reminding client to start or finish meals; j. Check smoke alarm; and k. Dispose of garbage PERFORMACE STANDARDS

• Companion Sitter services shall not include any personal or hands-on care, tasks or treatments outside of the scope of practice deemed safe and permissible by Byrams Homecare and the clients Plan of Care
• Companion Sitter services shall be delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant Byrams Homecare policies
• Companion Sitter services shall only be assigned to those employees who have the necessary experience, skills, qualifications, certification or equivalent to meet the needs of the client
• Employees shall be informed of, and understand the extent and limitations of services provided by the Byrams Homecare
• Employee works cooperatively with personnel of other community agencies involved in the client's care as directed by the Registered Nurse and Agency Administrator
• Employee must show respect and dignity for the client being served
• Employee must follow agency policies and procedures

Physical Demands: Good mental and physical health. Must be able to function smoothly and efficiently under stress

Working Conditions:Working indoors, in contact with agency staff and clients. Works outdoors in community to and from clients residence Responsible for maintaining open lines of communications between office staff, clients, and their family

Must have reliable transportation for work; use of a telephone
