The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Level III provides professional, competent anesthesia care to a wide variety of patients, from pediatric up to geriatric population, requiring surgical, obstetrical, and other anesthesia services. In addition, the CRNA Level III utilizes skills obtained through additional training, education and/or experience in the provision of anesthesia care to patients who present with complex and unique anesthetic requirements.
Works primarily in a Tertiary Medical Center with Multispecialty Trauma Services & multiple NORA (Non-Operating Room Anesthesia) sites and provides needed coverage to ASCs, HOPDs, and Community Medical Centers as directed by NH Anesthesia Leadership. Team members will participate in all Anesthesia and NORA cases. Team members will make up designated specialty teams such as Cardiac, Neuro, and Neonatal teams. Must participate in call coverage if part of the facility scheduling model. Team member participates in at least one department committee and/or department project once per fiscal year. New Graduates can request to transition to CRNA Level III after 12 months of employment. All team members will practice within the full scope of their CRNA privileges.

Qualifications
Education: BSN, MSN, DNP, and/or graduate diploma level certification required. Graduate from both an Accredited School of Nursing and School of Nurse Anesthesia. Certified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetist (NBCRNA) as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and recognized by the state of practice as a CRNA. Must meet minimum continuing education requirements every four years of the NBCRNA. Required.
Experience: Previous experience is not necessary. Four to six week orientation period (working with preceptor) is required. Orientation period will depend on previous experience and clinical skills.
Licensure/certification/registration: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required. Current CRNA endorsement in appropriate state, required. NBCRNA certification, ACLS certification, BLS certification and PALS certification within NH policy, required.
Additional Skills/Requirements (required): Must have extensive knowledge of current anesthetic agents, techniques, drugs and equipment. Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify the anesthetic plan of care suitable to patient age. Must have considerable ability to make independent decisions, sometimes under stress, and to maintain a professional demeanor with patients, coworkers and physicians. Must be able to provide anesthesia care for all case types (excluding specialty teams such as heart and neonatal teams).
