The platform currently has teams of experienced professionals operating from offices in Salt Lake City, Houston, Los Angeles, Charlotte, Dallas, Ft. Lauderdale, and Orange County.

We are currently seeking a Capital Markets Business Execution Director to join our team and support our continued growth. This position is in Charlotte, NC.

The Business Execution Director will collaborate, lead and partner with Zions Capital Markets (“ZCM”) Leadership and senior managers to establish business priorities, influence and drive initiatives, and represent ZCM on numerous work streams/initiatives/requests, some of which may be initiated outside of ZCM. This role requires a collaborative individual capable of initiating action and managing change in a fast-paced environment as well as strong relationship management, influencing, vision and execution skills. The role requires a sense of urgency, passion for results, and personal accountability for achievement. They will also have a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong credible relationships with key stakeholders of all seniority levels across the enterprise.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with the Head of Business Initiatives Management, COO, Division Heads/Team Members, and strategic partners (e.g. Project Management Office, Risk Management, Technology, etc.) to efficiently and effectively drive various sized initiatives across the Capital Markets division. Examples include system upgrades/implementations, industry/regulatory changes, issue remediation, strategic planning, c-suite management requests, and management presentations/analysis/reporting.

  • Daily collaboration with Capital Markets business heads/employees and other key stakeholders including Risk Management, Accounting/Finance, Treasury, Project Office, Legal, etc. to ensure successful business and risk management outcomes for the Capital Markets division.

  • Create & deliver executive communications, presentations, reporting, & metrics of the supported businesses and the function itself.

  • Maintain a culture where processes and controls are continually monitored and evaluated with risks and breaks escalated and resolved in a timely basis.

  • Drive results and foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.

  • Occasional travel to office locations with Capital Markets team members and/or business constituents/strategic enablers.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting or related field.

  • 10+ years of Business Management, Management Consulting, Business Operations and/or Project Management experience in Financial Services. A combination of education and experience may meet job requirements

  • Previous experience working in a capital markets division at a financial institution or providing consulting services for capital markets platforms strongly preferred.

  • Expert knowledge of capital markets products, services, and markets including Investment Banking/Advisory, Debt and Capital Markets, and Sales and Trading for derivative products (Interest Rates, Commodities, and Foreign Exchange). More specifically, direct experience with deal workflow systems handing Loan Syndications, Securities Underwriting, Real Estate Capital Markets, and Investment Banking/Advisory is advantageous. Also advantageous is direct experience with Back office and accounting related items pertaining to deal transactions and derivative profit and loss.

  • Expert knowledge and related experience driving various sized initiatives across a Capital Markets platform including scope/goals, planning, execution, monitoring, and implementation.

  • Expert knowledge and experience with the following systems strongly preferred; Calypso, Spectrum, Bloomberg, DealCloud, and/or Sales Force.

  • Expert knowledge of capital markets industry norms, best practices, etc.

  • Deep knowledge of applicable capital markets regulations (OCC, FINRA, MSRB, CFTC, SEC, BASEL, etc.). Experience leading implementations of new regulatory requirements.

  • Expert level knowledge and experience creating management (including C-suite) level presentations, reporting, and analysis.

  • Knowledge and understanding of process/control design, modeling, and development.

  • Ability to identify risk factors, key business decisions, and solutioning to ensure enactment and execution of managerial goals and appropriate controls.

  • Ability to establish and build trust with professionals throughout the business as a leader, advisor, and business partner to the organization with a clear client and risk management orientation.

  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.

  • Strong and influential communicator who is articulate, able to easily connect with senior leaders and simultaneously with junior members of the team as well. Demonstrates ability to impact and influence those around them.

  • High level of focus on work quality and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and track details.
