Foster Caviness Assistant Outbound Operations Manager in Colfax, North Carolina

General Summary:

The Assistant Outbound Operations Manager performs a critical role in our food logistics process by assisting our Outbound Operations Manager in leading, training and developing the night outbound operations team. This role includes collaborating with all the leaders on the team per the direction and guidelines established by the company and the Outbound Operations Manager including but not limited to, pallet building in Produce Pro, managing shorts in Produce Pro, researching and correcting pallet movement errors, selection, replenishment, loading of trucks in the overnight hours and doing so efficiently, in an environment of trust, while maintaining stringent food and occupational safety excellence.

  • Lead, coach, mentor and develop employees on job functions and procedures to ensure successful achievement of personal, professional, and company goals.
  • Create and maintain effective relationships/partnerships across a variety of functional areas partnering with leaders to ensure the customer and employee experience is amazing!
  • Maintain set performance standards/metrics/KPIs and ensure all associates understand how their performance impacts those metrics and why they have value.
  • Assist in ensuring that all our current reports are accurate and up to date at all times to provide functional opportunities that could identify solutions allowing us to capitalize on information gathered from the reports.
  • Work closely with the Outbound Operations Manager to direct and drive nightly operational initiatives, workflow, and processes to ensure operating costs and service level expectations are achieved.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the course of night operations by integrating and aligning operational functions and processes with business goals.
  • Invest in our people and the successful growth of our team through talent acquisition, onboarding, training, coaching, accountability, and corrective action.

What Youll Bring to the Table:

  • Computer/PC skills (strong in Excel) to input/analyze data, perform simulations, and make recommendations/changes to create efficiency in processes.
  • A genuine interest in ensuring we provide quality food products to our customers.
  • Past experience in leading individuals/motivating and developing teams.
  • An inquisitive mind, wanting to investigate, find solutions, and put those solutions in motion to improve performance and or solve problems utilizing all resources available.
  • Experience in the food industry/distribution and produce experience is a big plus!
  • Experience in Produce Pro software or similar AS 400 software is a big plus!
