Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Admissions Operations Specialist is part of a team that:

  • Reviews academic credentials for first year prospective students to determine admissibility

  • Communicates admissions policies and procedures to students, families, and high school counselors.

  • Responsible for the application process from beginning to end, including reviewing applications for errors, reviewing and waiving application requirements when appropriate, troubleshooting application and technical issues, reviewing and evaluating high school transcripts for minimum course requirements, calculating grade point averages, reviewing narrative submissions and letters of recommendation, and scoring admission essays.

Minimum Experience / Education:

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

University Preferred Qualifications:

Graduation from a four-year college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 1-2 years of Higher Education experience in enrollment management. Preference given to candidates with prior higher education enrollment management experience.

  • Experience in document management or administrative support services.

  • Experience and ability to analyze and solve problems.

  • Effective time management skills with ability to multi- task assignments with demonstrated ability to manage time and meet deadlines under pressure.

  • Intermediate experience with in Google Suite / Microsoft Suite.

  • Experience utilizing CRM software such as those within higher education preferred.

  • Efficient typing and data collection skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer relations skills with strong customer service skills.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Candidate should be able to work independently while balancing daily workload based on the business needs of the department.

  • Ability to remain calm and professional during workplace hours or representing the university.
