Senior Warehouse Supervisor

The Senior Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for assigned portions of the warehouse operations and daily activities of their team members. This position will manage multiple areas of the warehouse to include one or more of the following areas: Inbound, Inventory, Order Processing, and Outbound.

This position is a 2nd shift position The schedule is 2pm-10pm (must have flexiblity for overtime and weekends).

Responsiblites:

Safety

  • Demonstrate safety leadership in his/her daily management by communicating and maintaining the health and safety standard for the assigned areas.

  • Drive the permanent elimination of unsafe acts of people and unsafe conditions by using provided resources to identify, evaluate and control risks of injury or illness

  • Adhere to local, State, and Federal regulations, including, but not limited to, OSHA, DOT, and EEOC.

People

  • Manage and coordinate the activities of Team Members, including determining work procedures and schedules, providing direction, assigning duties, reviewing work, recommending disciplinary/personnel actions, and conducting performance reviews.

  • Build people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for supervisory and front-line hourly personnel.

  • Support and grow a feedback friendly culture among employees and peers as a champion of the feedback process.

  • Identify top performers to advance career / skill development to other areas of the warehouse.

Quality

  • Support the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Warehouse.

  • Maintain metrics to provide high level of inventory accuracy to support the business.

Cost

  • Capture various data points for entry into data collection spreadsheets / systems to measure against department metrics.

  • Effectively use data driven analysis to monitor and manage labor efficiency and meet goals.

Delivery

  • Partner cross-functionally with other areas of the business to successfully achieve company goals. Areas to include Quality, Human Resources, Corporate Office, Safety, and Maintenance to ensure successful execution of operational plans.

  • Any other duties as may be assigned.

Qualificiations:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of warehouse management experience; at least two (2) years in a supervisory position

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite software, JD Edwards and Manhattan Associates WMS or similar systems

  • Ability to function successfully in a fast paced, changing work environment

  • Working knowledge of Logistics automation – scanning equipment, RF systems, conveyors, AS/RS and high speed sortation systems

  • Ability to analyze, develop, initiate, and implement plans and strategies to achieve goals.

  • Experience with material handling equipment, with strong emphasis on fork lift safety/management/procedures.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully drive continuous improvement.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.

  • Knowledge of all areas of warehouse management to include, Receiving, Inventory Control, Cycle Count programs, Order picking, Shipping, Case pick / Pallet pick, and Direct to consumer operations.

  • Knowledge of Hazardous Material handling a plus.
