V.I. Housing Finance Authority Environmental/NEPA Support Specialist in Charlotte Amalie, Virgin Islands

DESCRIPTION The Environmental/National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Support Specialist will be responsible for providing essential administrative and organizational support to ensure the efficient operation of the environmental review process and compliance governed by NEPA. The primary function of this position is managing documentation, facilitating communication, and coordinating administrative tasks to support the departments objectives and deadlines through the direction of the Senior Environmental Manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Provide administrative support to the Environmental Department, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and organizing departmental files and records. - Assist in the preparation, formatting, and distribution of documents, reports, and correspondence related to environmental review and NEPA compliance. - Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to gather information, track project timelines, and ensure timely completion of deliverables. - Maintain database and tracking systems for project documentation, regulatory compliance, and reporting requirements. - Coordinate logistics for meetings, workshops, and public hearings. - Assist with preparation of presentations or materials for internal or external stakeholders. - Serve as a point of contact for inquiries for team members, subrecipients, regulatory agencies, and the public providing courteous and timely responses. - Support departmental initiatives, special projects, and process improvements as needed. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED: - Education:Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Environmental Science or other related field. - Experience:A minimum of 5 years of experience in related role, the ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate with multiple partners to facilitate environmental review completion. - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience in administrative support roles; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management software; Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines; Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy; Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team environment; Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders; Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to learn; A valid Virgin Islands Drivers License. SALARY:$60,000 - $72,000per annum depending upon qualifications. CDBG-DR and CDBG-MIT grant funded position.
