Expected to independently navigate moderate to advanced animal husbandry and interactive training tasks by drawing upon experience and knowledge of standard practices with guidance from senior staff. Expected to utilize their knowledge and experience during training scenarios, handling most behavior related challenges on their own with minimal supervision. Additional duties may include daily operation planning, project management, intern coordination, or supply procurement, etc. Will serve as the primary trainer to a specific animal and is responsible for monitoring and communicating valuable information related to the training, maintenance, and health monitoring of that animal. Participate in all hurricane and emergency preparedness tasks appropriate to skill level. Can safely participate in animal Aquisition and restraint for veterinary or emergency evacuation procedures as needed. Continually develop training skills and gain experience training advanced behaviors and troubleshooting complex behavior challenges. Coordinate staff and animal activities as a day-leader and expected to develop leadership skills and mentor AWS 1, AWSA, and interns/volunteers as part of this position's professional development.
