Linux Cloud Services:

The Linux cloud services team provides services that are part of Oracle IaaS offerings. They are included with customer subscriptions to compute services. They include YUM, ksplice, OS Management Hub service and Autonomous Linux among others.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Director in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Envision and communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Ideal Candidate Background:

Ideally, a candidate will possess experience as a cloud administrator who has managed large fleets of Linux instances in OCI, AWS, Azure or GCP or experience as a Linux system administrator/cloud developer responsible for the management of hundreds of Linux systems or instances. Expertise with the use of Linux is necessary. A customer-centric viewpoint is necessary. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required as well as the ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable requirements.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Since Linux Cloud Services are part of Oracle OCI IaaS offerings, the Linux Cloud Services team needs to maintain and collaborate with other adjacent and useful Oracle cloud services to ensure thoughtful roadmaps. The Sr. Dir, of Technical Product Management of Linux Cloud Services would be responsible for maintaining relationships and an intelligent future vision with these complimentary and adjacent cloud services teams along with providing regular feedback to our organization and theirs.

In order to develop meaningful roadmaps, the Sr. Director of Technical Product Management would be responsible also for providing to development management regular reviews of the competitive market offerings from cloud vendors such as AWS, Azure and GCP. We would like to have regular internal discussions with development leadership including the architects.

Competitive Analysis/Review Requirements: Technical hands-on use and summary of technical reviews/ratings in the press of our competitors offerings, competitive review of user experience and functionality for patching, lifecycle management, configuration management, troubleshooting, workflow/scheduling/job automation , use of AI, ML, natural language interfaces in the scope of our services, levels of support for various flavors of OS, top 3-5 problems customers want to solve and the nicest user experience for doing that

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $155,600 to $338,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
