Roper St. Francis Supervisor Grant Accounting - HIV Grant Program - Sixty One West - Charleston, SC - Shift 8:00am-5:00pm in Charleston, South Carolina

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

In accordance with our Organization and Vision Statement of the Ryan White HIV Program, the Grants Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for the management of all Ryan White HIV Program funding sources administered through our organization.  Responsibilities include grants monitoring, regulatory compliance, federal, state, and grants reporting requirements, auditing and monitoring, and supervision of gifts and donations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Create and maintainappropriate spreadsheets and documentation for program expenses for all Ryan White funding sources for tracking/reporting purposes.  

  • Maintain resources for compliance training and maintenance for 6 – 10 funding sources (grants, donations, federal, non-federal, private).

  • Implement procedures to communicate, educate, and ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures and applicable grant regulations.

  • Meet with Program Director and Grants Director when grant is awarded to review responsibilities for grant management and reporting, to include annual grant projections, operating budgets, and audits. 

  • Prepare monthly accounting report and review balances with Program Director and other RWWC administrative team members. 

  • Review monthly program expenses, ensuring allocations match journal entries. 

  • Prepare budgetary and finance-related documents for HIV-related applications and/or reports for submission using dictated electronic processes and Web-based tools (grants.gov, eHBs), and reconcile interim and final financial reports.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Specific education or experience in Accounting, Grants Administration, or related degree is strongly preferred. 

Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in grant accounting, budget management, or related experience, to include 3 years' experience in federal grants/contracts financial managementrequired.

Frequent sitting. Frequently requires extended periods of working at a computer. Intermittent walking, standing, stooping, bending. May require lifting or moving items up to 25 lbs. Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity. Constant talking or hearing. Corrected hearing and vision to normal range. No exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue. Exposure to infectious materials, communicable diseases and/or other conditions common to a healthcare environment. Normal office environment. Requires work under stressful conditions, deadlines, and/or irregular hours. Ability to read and comprehend.

Skills

  • Knowledge of grant funded program administration, budget administration, state and federal funding requirements, OMB Circulars and Uniform Grant Management Systems.

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting theory, practices, and auditing procedures.

  • Computer experience required.

  • Requires the aptitude to research, communicate, and resolve/implement steps to ensure regulatory compliance with applicable state and federal requirements. 

  • Possesses the capacity to work independently and as a team member.

  • Requires ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Requires the ability to effectively communicate with clientele and other personnel.

  • Knowledge of budgeting and accounting procedures for grants/contracts, and government regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to grants/contracts. 

  • Detailed written and verbal communication skills.
