Job Title: SUE Coordinator I

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated SUE Coordinator I to provide project administration, scheduling, financial processing, and technical assistance to the Project Manager and staff. The role involves monitoring projects to ensure they meet or exceed customer expectations regarding cost, timeframes, and work performance. You will also be responsible for maintaining inventory, directing field crews, and assisting with new employee onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project administration, scheduling, financial processing, and technical administration assistance to the Project Manager and staff.

  • Assist with monitoring projects to ensure cost, timeframes, and work performance meet or exceed customer expectations.

  • Assist with monitoring and ordering of work supplies and scheduling vehicle and equipment maintenance.

  • Maintain inventory of all SUE equipment and vehicles on a weekly basis.

  • Assist in directing multiple field crews with constantly changing priorities and schedules, ensuring the quality of deliverables.

  • Assist with daily crew routes.

  • Assist with compiling internal documentation and inspecting deliverables for accuracy and correctness.

  • Provide support for Permit Modifications Requests, 811 Ticket, Records Requests, MOT, and Start Work Notices.

  • Assist with new employee onboarding.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with field SUE locate and designate procedures and equipment as related to current industry standards.

  • Utility locating experience, including gas lines, sewer, underground storage tanks, etc.

  • Quality assurance experience.

  • Ability to manage a group of people and possess leadership skills.

  • Proficiency in surveying, electromagnetism, and total station usage.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 8 years of experience in the SUE industry with 1 year of supervisory experience.

  • Two-year associate degree in Land Surveying/Civil Engineering Technology or at least 3-5 years of SUE locating or surveying field experience.

  • Basic knowledge of laws and regulations affecting private vs public rights of way, Sunshine 811, Maintenance of Traffic/Temporary Traffic Control, City, County, State, and other permitting requirements.

  • Basic understanding of technical specifications related to project deliverables.

  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu or comparable geomatics software (ArcGIS, Google Earth, Survey123, etc.).

  • Basic knowledge of GIS systems and data reliability.
