Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician

Job Description

Inspect, clean, assemble, and sterilize medical instruments, equipment, and supplies. Prepare, store, and restock sterile supplies and equipment according to established protocols. Operate sterilization equipment to ensure that supplies and instruments are clean and ready for use. Document all activities related to sterilization and cleaning procedures. Assist operating room and procedural area staff with the setup of supplies and equipment as needed. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times. Follow all safety protocols and procedures related to the use of sterilization and cleaning equipment. Report any issues or concerns to supervisors in a timely manner. Participate in training and education sessions as required.

Responsibilities

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Previous experience in a sterile processing environment or in a related field

  • Knowledge of standard sterilization and cleaning procedures

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds as needed

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

  • Ability to work in a team setting and adapt to a changing work environment

Work Environment

Climate Controlled - Clean Room. Will be gowned up so need to be used to wearing multiple layers of clothing and standing 8 hours a day.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charleston, South Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00
