Description
The Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) Risk and Operations team is looking for an experienced Learning Experience Designer (LXD) to design and deliver innovative learning strategies for our global team that plays an integral role in helping authors publish their books.
In this position, you will create and improve learning strategies and curricula to yield improved time to proficiency and improved learner experience. You will work on projects that utilize your expertise in adult learning theory and instructional design technologies to enhance the performance of Amazonians.
Candidates should have program management experience working autonomously and cross-functionally, demonstrating success in developing strong stakeholder relationships, eagerness and willingness to identify and try new ideas, and experience making the right tradeoffs. They should also have proven success with independently delivering end-to-end learner solutions from concept through delivery and measurement, including developing and delivering against work back schedules to deliver results.
Key job responsibilities
Partner with stakeholders to evaluate the program/project goals and scope the training needs.
Define and document the learning solution that helps them meet these goals including components such as the performance objectives, engagement strategies, and the evaluation plan.
Design and develop performance-focused training content that engages learners.
Create high quality practice cases and other materials to help ensure learner understanding and drive improved performance.
Develop and drive your projects through ambiguity, competing priorities, dependencies, and challenging deadlines, to ensure the right training is deployed on time and own communications to keep key business stakeholders engaged along the way.
Monitor curricula to ensure the content is updated periodically and accurately.
Support other LXDs in uploading, testing, and maintaining content to an LMS.
Consistently identify areas of continuous improvement to continually raise the bar for our learning experiences.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of program or project management experience
3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
3+ years experience in an instructional designer or learning experience designer role
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
3+ years of driving process improvements experience
Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
Experience designing, developing, planning, implementing and assessing training content
Experience developing curriculum that is in line with adult learning standards
Experience developing eLearning and self-directed learning modules, performance support aids, online tutorials and/or other training materials
Experience with multi-media development (audio, video, and/or animation)
Experience collaborating and coordinating with subject matter experts, global stakeholders, and managers
Experience with developmental tools such as Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, software technology like HTML, Javascript for learning portal design
Experience with SCORM, xAPI, online learning and learning technologies
Expertise in Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and SharePoint
Demonstrated use of multiple learning methods and linking appropriate methods with learners and outcomes
Excellent writing and editing skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
