Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Network Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to rovide highly skilled technical assistance in network planning, engineering, and architecture.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Technical Standards: Develop technical standards and interface applications; identify and evaluate new products; provide solutions for network problems.

  • Customer and Vendor Interface: Interface with internal/external customers and vendors to determine system needs.

  • Resource Integration: Plan and incorporate how new network resources and applications will exist on the network.

  • Metrics Reporting: Provide monthly metrics for network availability and bandwidth usage, as well as other metrics as requested. Responsible for network capacity planning.

  • Network Management Tools: Use network management tools to discover, map, and maintain the network.

  • OS and Version Upgrades: Responsible for network equipment OS and version upgrades.

  • Technology Research: Conduct research on new technologies and implementation strategies.

  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and maintain network interfaces to ensure the highest level of performance and make modifications and enhancements as needed.

  • Documentation: Document procedures and keep network diagrams and related material up to date.

  • User Support: Handle escalated user problems, questions, and requests on network issues.

  • Collaboration: Work with other groups within IS to resolve network-related issues as needed.

  • Leadership: Depending on level of position, lead and direct the work of other Network Engineers.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required.

  • 5+ years experience or 11+ years of relevant experience may be substituted for education.

  • Experience with a diverse set of tactical communication products.

  • Proficiency in network planning, engineering, and architecture.

  • Strong understanding of network management tools and techniques.

  • Knowledge of network equipment OS and version upgrades.

  • Familiarity with network performance monitoring and enhancement strategies.
