SAIC Mission Assurance Engineer in CHANTILLY, Virginia

Description

Parts, Material & Processes (PMP) / Mission Assurance (MA) Support. The PMP/Mission Assurance Lead shall support the government PMP/MA lead in all aspects of PMP, Mission Assurance and Design Assurance across the program. The individual will participate in developing requirements and assessing developer designs and processes to deliver a new start program closer to a Class C rather than a more typical Class A mission assurance/risk level. Individual will conduct analysis of alternatives and planning for significant new and emerging requirements for LEO SIGINT mission assurance. The individual must have a broad understanding of Overhead SIGINT architectures and missions, the specific missions assigned to the LEO orbital regime, and be able to conceive and evaluate alternatives for assuring success of those missions.

Key duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide support to PMP activities include recommendations on the application of requirements for space qualified parts, materials and processes to programs

  • Evaluate and track PMP across the program

  • Participate in NRO level and development contractor PMP and MA forums

  • Support the development, application and monitoring of the NRO MA Standards for analysis and prevention of issues that have caused failures, launch delays, reduced mission life or performance or resulted in significant rework

  • Support the development of mission assurance profiles to include tailoring of mission assurance standards for new systems and initiatives at levels closer to commercial standards rather than current/historical NRO Class A programs

  • Perform an/or review contractors' reliability & maintainability analysis (RMA)

  • Assist with mission assurance activities, EMI/EMC testing and radiation analyses

  • Evaluate waivers and deviations to PMPDA requirements for deliverable hardware and software as they are submitted for program approval

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years in commercial programs and or other relevant overhead programs (mission and architectures), with experience in all or most of the above key duties and responsibilities

  • BS in a technical field (engineering, mathematics, physics)

  • Active TS/SCI with CI poly clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • MS in a technical field (engineering, mathematics, physic)

  • 5+ years' experience with Overhead SIGINT missions and architectures

  • Experience with LEO SIGINT missions and architectures
